Database Management Systems Services

The primary function of a "Database Management Systems (DBMS)" is "Storing Data", and all databases do exactly, that thing first.

Installing and Configuring a specific DBMS only requires the understanding of the different configurations that a specific DBMS, and the specific requirements for the DBMS.

Adding, Installing, Configuring a database or multiple databases, isn't difficult, once you have the requirements/intended use of a specific database.

BTEKS has installed, configured, and, Tested Database Management Systems for 19 years.

The Process of Managing a DBMS:

1.  Identify the DBMS

2.  Review DBMS Reference Material for specific configurations

3.  Review the existing environment specifications

4.  Implement Installation & Configuration

Formal Training:

Definition:  Formal Instructor Led Training that introduces one to a specific DBMS, or the newest release of an existing DBMS. Formal Training delves into all of the micro intricacies of the functionality of a DBMS, and often times, it is this training that helps a individual to understand what a DBMS is capable of..., and with this understanding, the individual can then experiment and perfect a DBMS capabilities over time.

I've worked with many who have never experienced formal DBMS formal training for any DBMS, who have been performing well in their position for 15 years, however, they lack the ability to think above what the have experienced, which is often, restricted to perhaps 40% of the DBMS functional capabilities.

On hand Experience:

On hand experience or On the job experience, provides the knowledge base that can only be attained when actually working on the system and getting a lot of reps at anything that you will be doing as a DBA/Developer.

Differences between:

Oracle, MYSQL, MS SQL Server, Sybase, & Ingres:

Since all are DBMS, the functionality are all the same...

each one stores data, each one allows authorized users to access data, each one allows for the manipulation of the stored data, each one will crash for all of the same reasons.

Subtle idiosyncrasies are obvious, but, functionality for all, is the same,

"Store Data" and allow access to the data based on the individuals absolute needs.

The 2 Differences are:

Accessing the specific DBMS

Functionality of the specific DBMS

Not only can you display pictures, you can display products that you are selling and actually collect payments via your website.

BTEKS helps you to "all of the above in these ways"

We take control for you:

We guide you thru

Program Management Philosophy BTEKS Support:

Full Development Life Cycle (FSDLC) & Agile Software Development

Schedule Change Request (SCR) is a documented issue with a web application or a software, and a list of these SCRs are packaged as a bundle of changes that are addressed by a team of software/application developers.

The team of developers initiate a development process to address the list of SCRs, that last between 6 weeks and 18 months, pending the specific type of development cycle the environment supports.

The list of SCRs, once addressed as a collective package, are all included as a Software/Web Application Release.

BTEKS supported the U.S. Coast Guard Web Application in this regard.
